el creepO!

This afternoon, after we dropped patrick off at work, elijah and I headed to the mall to walk and play on their cute play place!
I parked (in a usual spot) and went for the stroller in the trunk. It was super freezing out so I was trying to hurry! Did a quick looksee(I am incredibly hyper-vigilant and obsess about looking all around for evil and get prepared to kill if need be!) and all was well. got stroller, closed trunk, opened door to grab elijah fast and turned around to put him in the stroller.

"need any help here" said the creepy man with one hand on our stroller.
(where the heck did HE come from??)
"uh....nope I am a pro at this, but thanks!" I said wildly startled and wondering how quick I could exit this scene! (of snow drift behind me, in between cars and this weirdo in front of me, holding my stroller!) lord protect us and give me strength!
"ok. So you like your Honda?"he said
"yep, love it."I said firmly.
"what year is she?"he calmly asked.
"2004" as I placed elijah in the stroller and stepped him in. I did this very harshly, jerking so he would let go. It worked.
"mine's a '93, hope she keeps running awhile!" as he pointed across the lot to a black civic, with a driver's door open and a man sitting in the passenger seat. (freakout)
I turned my stroller around with both hands and moved ahead, passing the man"yeah my brother in law has a trusty little 92! Have a great day" and went as fast as I could possibly go across the icy parking lot towards the mall entrance.
Not looking behind, only ahead, I saw a couple moving to the same entrance. I waved to them and while hurrying to the door said "isn't it a beautiful day!?" the man held the door for us, I stumbled in and found a bench nearby and sat. Stunned.

what just happened? Was that just a harmless socially inept weirdo being nice?
Did we just avert disaster? How did I not see it coming? I was shaking. That man gave me the creeps. He was greasy like a mechanic, maybe he was fixing his '93? His tone was off. If he was just a friendly man, that is most certainly not the tone or the method to start a chat with a stranger! And I like to think I have good sense of when danger lurks and this felt like "get the hell away!" to me!

After some time, deciding to pass on the walk, I bought a candle at hallmark(that helped;) a bit)then we strolled over to the play place. Nice family there and a grandma and granddaughter. I let elijah run wild for awhile and when I saw the family was leaving. (and from the same door I entered) I asked if I could tag along(telling them that I didn't want to walk alone because of uneasy parking lot people) they were so nice and the husband was a great big (tough) man! Score! Safe to the car and on our way!

Praising god. Not sure what if anything we were spared from but I am thankful!

*And linnea, this was at the place I always park. Where you said that girl was taken. I was even thinking about it when I parked there(again)!
From now on, parking in a new spot every time and paying even closer attention!*

geaux tebow

We really only have a TV for DVD and wii use. :o) Patrick went to a super bowl party last night and I "watched" the game through play by play on a thirty second delay via a sports app on my phone. ( thankfully, The game was exciting enough to keep me interested) ANYWAY I obviously couldn't see commercials. Curious about the."tebow ad controversy" I checked the ad on youtube this morning. That was it? THAT was what rubbed peeps the wrong way? Or maybe focus on the family changed some things, I have no idea... BUT if this ad is "it" then WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE! Good gravy how annoying! Pfft. Dad always said: if the cat gets rubbed the wrong way, tell the cat to turn around.

c.h. spurgeon

"Lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil [or, the evil one]." Luke 11:4

What we are taught to seek or shun in prayer, we should equally pursue or avoid in action. Very earnestly, therefore, should we avoid temptation, seeking to walk so guardedly in the path of obedience, that we may never tempt the devil to tempt us. We are not to enter the thicket in search of the lion. Dearly might we pay for such presumption. This lion may cross our path or leap upon us from the thicket, but we have nothing to do with hunting him. He that meeteth with him, even though he winneth the day, will find it a stern struggle. Let the Christian pray that he may be spared the encounter. Our Saviour, who had experience of what temptation meant, thus earnestly admonished His disciples--"Pray that ye enter not into temptation."

But let us do as we will, we shall be tempted; hence the prayer "deliver us from evil." God had one Son without sin; but He has no son without temptation. The natural man is born to trouble as the sparks fly upwards, and the Christian man is born to temptation just as certainly. We must be always on our watch against Satan, because, like a thief, he gives no intimation of his approach. Believers who have had experience of the ways of Satan, know that there are certain seasons when he will most probably make an attack, just as at certain seasons bleak winds may be expected; thus the Christian is put on a double guard by fear of danger, and the danger is averted by preparing to meet it. Prevention is better than cure: it is better to be so well armed that the devil will not attack you, than to endure the perils of the fight, even though you come off a conqueror. Pray this evening first that you may not be tempted, and next that if temptation be permitted, you may be delivered from the evil one.

What really makes me happy

right now is making shadows. With elijah. By the led night light. He LOVES it and I love him!

Also I am really happy that patrick has Sunday off!!

And our fridge was fixed today and before anything spoiled!

AND because the sun shines most days, the snow looks like glitter falling from the sky.

*i am always griping that nobody in our house can talk about what annoys them or what they hate without immediately following it with two things they love and are happy about*

What is annoying me

right now is that I am growing my hair out. Want to grow it, but the process is REALLY bothersome.
(also when my foot falls asleep, that is annoying and also just happened...)
